Faculty Position in Earth Sciences at National Taiwan Normal University
The Department of Earth Sciences at National Taiwan Normal University invites applications for a faculty position in Geology starting in the August of 2016. The position is expected to be at the non-tenure Special Project Assistant Professor level.
A Special Project Assistant Professor will be offered at most three years in principle and will be evaluated every year. The first year will be evaluated based on the teaching and service performance. Besides the teaching and service performance, the research performance will be also evaluated on the second and third year. Candidates in the field of solid earth sciences (minerology, igneous and metamorphic petrology), with expertise using analytical instruments (e.g., ICP-MS and/or electron microprobe) is preferred.
The appointees should have a demonstrated record in research and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. It is expected that the candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geology at the time of the appointment with preference given to those with post-doctoral experience and whose interests, abilities, and experience benefit our existing programs.
