Research Award - Dongsha Atoll Research Station - 2017
Dongsha Atoll Research Station (DARS) is established to study the natural resources and phenomena under the background of global change in South China Sea by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan (Republic of China). This award is aimed at increasing exposure of the atoll and research opportunities to scientific community through sponsoring scientists from both Taiwan and abroad.
Qualification & Requirements
1. Current status: Post-doctoral, research fellows, professors
2. A concise proposal + application form, not exceeding 7 pages.
3. Taiwanese collaborator(s) required. Your Taiwanese collaborator(s) is also responsible for application of collection permits from Marine National Park of Taiwan. If you could not find one, we may be able to match suitable counterparts for you.
4. Deadline: September 25, 2016.
The Award Offers:
1. Two to four week stay at Dongsha Atoll Research Station, covering costs on Dongsha Island, i.e., room and board, boat use, bench, diving, shipping of supply by ferry between Dongsha Atoll and Kaohsiung, insurance to cover the period of the stay. Flights between Kaohsiung and Dongsha. Round trip economic flights between your home institute and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Up to four-day per-diem to cover living costs beyond Dongsha Atoll. The tour has to be completed before the end of July 31 2017.
2. Taiwanese collaborators: Two to four week stay at Dongsha Atoll Research Station, covering costs on Dongsha Island, i.e., room and board, boat use, bench, diving, shipping of supply by ferry between Dongsha Atoll and Kaohsiung, insurance to cover the period of the stay, traveling from your home institute to Kaohsiung. Up to two days per-diem to cover living costs beyond Dongsha Atoll. Flights between Kaohsiung and Dongsha.
