Background
Sun Yat-sen University was established in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. A top-tier research university recognized both at home and abroad for its remarkable strengths in a wide range of disciplines, including the humanities, natural sciences as well as engineering and medical sciences, Sun Yat-sen University has fostered an exceptional learning environment and a favorable academic atmosphere.
School of Geography and Planning (SGP) of Sun Yat-sen University was founded in October, 2002. The SGPoriginated from Department of Geography established in 1929 as one of the oldest geography departments in China. The SGP has recently become International School of Geography, as part of a new internationalization initiative of the Ministry of Education and State Foreign Expert Bureau.
Sun Yat-sen University will host the First Zhuhai International Forum for Outstanding Young Scholars in December 18-20^th, 2015. The SGP will organize the Sub-Forum on Geography, to explore the academic frontiers and hot topics in geography and related fields, and to promote academic exchange and cooperation.

The Sub-Forum on Geography welcomes young scholars from geography, urban and rural planning and other related disciplines. Interested participants are encouraged to fill the application formand send to isgp@mail.sysu.edu.cn or rscrcgc@mail.sysu.edu.cn. The deadline of application is November 10^th; Second Announcement will be published before November 15^th.
Travel and Accommodation
The organizing committee will provide accommodation and subsidies for the participants.
